Diversity with Distinction
Divurssati Events was formed in 2007 to give young people the opportunity to engage in each others culture. Divurssati Events enables students to participate in a wide range of diverse activities.
Also since January 2000, OFSTED's inspection framework has included an examination of how schools can cultivate aspects such as pupils' personal development. Including, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development; promoting respect and tolerance; and using resources that reflect sensitivity to different groups, cultures and social backgrounds.
Divurssati Events covers a wide range of participant led activities. When organising, creating ideas or event practising diversity, it is important to remember all the rules. Unknowingly, people exclude other races when organising events and inclusion not exclusion is the way forward.
Diversity is the mutual acceptance and values placed on differences among people, with respect to age, class, disability, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, race, sexual orientation and spiritual practice. Whether you are an organisation or company or an individual diversity plays a part in your life.
We are all different and it is therefore important that we as individuals can live together…
We have to respect the way other people live…..
We must value the rights of people from different cultures….
The needs of individuals must be taken into account…..
One of the most important points to remember is when thinking talking and acting out diversity events, as well as taking into account BME individuals you should also include the indigenous population.
